BoM在未來三天展望中已不再提到94SAt 2pm WST Sunday 21 March a tropical low (21U) was located near 11.5S 93.0E, about 425 kilometres to the west of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands and moving west northwest at about 8 km/h. The system will slowly develop over the next few days as it moves west, further away from the Islands with a Low risk it develops into a tropical cyclone on Wednesday.
There remains uncertainty in it's movement and development from Thursday, where it may continue to take a westward track, remain a tropical low and move out of the region. However, if the system slows down on Wednesday, it may remain within the region and in a generally favourable environment for development, increasing the risk of a tropical cyclone later in the week. Given the divergence in scenarios, there is a Low risk on Thursday that this system is a tropical cyclone within the region.
The Indian Ocean Islands are not expected to be impacted by this system.
Likelihood of a tropical cyclone in the Western Region on:
Tuesday: Very Low
Wednesday: Low
Thursday: Low
