As of 10:30 p.m. EDT on Sept. 23, 2011, the orbit of UARS was 85 miles by 90 miles (135 km by 140 km). Re-entry is expected between 11:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, and 12:45 a.m., Sept. 24, Eastern Daylight Time (3:45 a.m. to 4:45 a.m. GMT). During that time period, the satellite will be passing over Canada and Africa, as well as vast areas of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. The risk to public safety is very remote.

Re-entry was expected between 11:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, and 12:45 a.m., Sept. 24, Eastern Daylight Time (3:45 a.m. to 4:45 a.m. GMT). During that time period, the satellite was passing over Canada and Africa, as well as vast areas of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. The risk to public safety was very remote. NASA is working to confirm the re-entry location and time and will provide an update shortly.

NASA：衛星已墜地球　研判落加拿大

全球高度關注，一顆報廢的衛星在今天墜落地球，根據NASA最新訊息，這顆衛星穿越大氣層後，分解成26個碎片，確認墜落地球表面，最有可能墜落地點，研判在加拿大。

NASA透過官方Twitter表示，這顆讓全球膽戰心驚的衛星，證實已經墜落地面。NASA指出，這顆6噸重的報廢衛星，墜落時間落在台北時間11點23分到13點09分，在太平洋上空穿越大氣層，經過燃燒，剩下大約26塊碎片。

根據衛星繞行的路經研判，墜落地點最有可能在加拿大境內，有加拿大民眾在亞伯達省「卡加利」南方小鎮，發現好幾塊衛星殘骸，美國NASA強調，墜落的衛星殘骸屬於美國財產，任何人撿拾後必須歸還給美國政府，不得私自收藏或轉售。

NASA’s decommissioned Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite fell back to Earth between 11:23 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 23 and 1:09 a.m. EDT Sept. 24. The Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California said the satellite penetrated the atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The precise re-entry time and location are not yet known with certainty.

最終台灣還是逃過一劫,主因還是衛星落下的時間變了，因為速度難測，結局是落到加拿大，差好多喔！

新聞的報導引用下午NASA三點多時發表的(推特跟FB都有)但在隨吼NASA又說不知墜落地點在哪(也沒再發表任何有關此衛星的訊息)
在加拿大有人目擊之後
目前也有人指出在荷蘭南部天際疑似衛星碎塊

The precise re-entry time and location of any debris impacts are still being determined. NASA is not aware of any reports of injury or property damage.
