Tropical Low 07U
A tropical low (07U) is forming in the northern Arafura Sea.
07U is expected to remain slow moving in the Arafura Sea at first, before moving south towards the northeast Top End coast or into the western Gulf of Carpentaria on Friday or Saturday.
Conditions are slightly favourable for development of 07U later in the week.
The likelihood of 07U developing into a tropical cyclone increases to Moderate on Friday.
Residents along the northeast Top End coast and in the western Gulf of Carpentaria are to monitor forecasts during the week.
